The UN Compensation Commission (UNCC) has finally approved compensation payments to 8,615 Indian citizens who fled Kuwait and Iraq during the Gulf War.
After more than 15 years of waiting, these 8,615 Indians are going to receive their just compensation awards. The war, which resulted in the liberation of Kuwait from Iraq in 1991, had forced many Indians to return from Kuwait, Iraq and other Gulf countries.

Diligently shopping for auto insurance is the key to obtaining the best coverage at a premium you can afford, and will prevent unexpected surprises that could land you in potential legal entanglements should you be involved in an accident. Underinsured motorists are subject to possible lawsuits, and their personal assets and future earnings placed at risk, if their liability limits are inadequate to pay for bodily injuries or property damage.
A five-year study conducted by one major insurance company disclosed a significant variance in six-month premiums among carriers.

After last week's report into the state of hygiene in Irish hospitals, the government is expecting a huge compensation bill from MRSA victims and their families
The report is now being analysed by British-based infection control experts. It's expected to bolster legal actions currently being taken by MRSA sufferers.

Land baron, Nicholas Van Hoogstraten, who was convicted of Mohammed Raja's murder in 2002 and spent 17 months in prison, but then was released after appealing the sentence, has once again been found guilty of the crime, but this time by a civil court.
Raja's family won in civil court and Van Hoogstraten may have to pay out as much as £10 million in damages. Hoogstraten did not show up in court nor did he have legal representation. Interviewed later, he said that the whole case was a time wasting exercise. "If I wanted to get this guy bumped off don't you think I would have done a better job of it?"

The skiing season is here and many Scots are off to the mountains to enjoy holidays of powdered snow, glistening sun and skiing, but many, too, will come back injured and in deep debt because they forgot one crucial thing before leaving - to buy ski holiday insurance.
An accident on the slopes could mean evacuation by a helicopter and costly on-site private medical attention that could amount to many thousands of pounds. In our newly developed compensation culture, worse still would be if you crash into another skier on the hill, you could pay out millions. To prevent all of this, before you leave make sure you are covered.

The Special Report from Legal Ombudsman, Zahida Manzoor, highlighted serious inadequacies in the manner in which the Law Society has dealt with the more than 800 complaints it has received against its members from miners claiming funds from the two miner compensation schemes.
Despite the damming report, Janet Paraskeva, chief executive of the Law Society remains staunch up against the mounting criticism of her organisation in the matter. She said," Some people have taken the opportunity to pursue a campaign against solicitors, unfairly raising expectations of miners and their families and creating unnecessary problems for solicitors and firms."

If someone has suffered personal injuries due to clinical negligence, it is certain that the person or persons are recovering in more ways than one. The first step to take is often to make sure that the injured person receives the correct treatments and recovers from the injuring that they received.
In the United Kingdom, the time limit for filing is normally three years. Hopefully, this gives the injured person time to heal so that they are stronger and able to handle the stress of a legal proceeding.
